Medal No. 24 – Isaiah's Prophecy
Isaiah prophesied that in the future, there will be an end to war and peace shall reign among the peoples on earth. "They shall beat their swords into plough-shares, and their spears into pruning-knives: Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, and they shall not learn war anymore" (Isaiah 2:4). There will be no more hatred between nations and tension between people. The last chapters in the Book of Isaiah are devoted to prophecies of the future redemption. Isaiah refers to the time of peace and tranquility, when each person will eat "of his own vine….and his fig tree".
Isaiah's prophecy of the end to war and age of peace is represented artistically on the medal.
