The Fifth Israel Festival
Official Award medal, 5725-1965

The fifth Festival medal is the seventh in the series related to music. Two were issued previously in connection with the two harp competitions in Jerusalem in 5719 and 5722 (1959 and 1962) while four others were issued in connection with the annual festivals in 5721, 5722, 5723 and 5724 (1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964).

Obverse: In the center, towards the left, an inscription in raised letters and over three lines: "The Israel Festival 5725". Towards the right, the Festival emblem and in smaller letters "The Israel Festival 1965" in English.

Reverse: Four incuse irregular squares. In the top one the State emblem in raised form. In the lower one, a theatrical mask. In the left, a four string harp. One large square bears the inscription: "Presented to (space for name) by the Israel Festival Committee" in English.

Edge: The State emblem and the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English. Some of the medals have "Israel" in Hebrew and English.
