The Fourth Israel Festival
Official Award Medal, 5724-1964

The fourth Festival medal is the sixth issue connected with music. Two were issued previously in connection with the Harp competition in Jerusalem in 5719 and 5722 (1959, 1962).

Three were issued in honour of the annual festival in 5721, 5722 and 5723 (1961, 1962 and 1963).

Description of the medal

Obverse: In the center to the left, an inscription in three lines of raised letters: "Israel Festival 5724". On the left, the Festival emblem. Below, in smaller letters and in one line in English. "The Israel Festival 1964".

Reverse: Four incuse rectangles of different sizes. The top portrays the State emblem. The bottom, a theatrical mask. On the left, a four string harp. Inside the largest rectangle, an inscription in English: "Presented by the Prime Minister's Office".

Edge: The State emblem and the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English. Some of the medals have "Israel" in Hebrew and English.
