Eretz Israel is likened in the Bible to a deer because of its beauty – and indeed a graceful deer stands proudly in the center of the medal.  A heart occupies the place of Jerusalem, the heart of the nation, on the map of Israel – a unique hologramic heart that changes color when the medal is moved in the light. On the medal face appears the official logo of the 60th Anniversary celebrations.
