Israel's 50th Anniversary

The medal face design consists of a stylized figure "50" formed by two intersecting circles. The zero of the "50" is formed by a closed circle symbolizing the past first years of statehood. The second circle, forming the lower half of the "5" in the "50" is open, pointing to the expectations and potential of the next 50 years. The medal reverse bears several symbols of the State of Israel: a stylized Menorah, the Knesset building, emblem of the Israel Defense Forces, a Torah scroll, hi-tech silicone chip and dove of peace.
