Independence Day Coin, 1994 5754, 46th Anniversary

The Israel Government declared the year 5754 "Year of the Environment". Intensive activity and educat effort aimed at preserving the environment and increasing awareness of the importance of clean air and v were planned. In this spirit, the Independence Day Coin, 1994, is dedicated to ecology. The State of I appreciates the national importance of this subject and has joined the worldwide effort to protect p Earth. Much has already been achieved in cleaning coasts and streams, rehabilitating rivers, recycling wprevention of air pollution and educating for environmental protection in schools. This beautiful coin de the earth as the center of a flower surrounded by petals, a symbol of fragility.

Obverse: Face value in Hebrew and English, "1 New Sheqel" on the silver B.U. coin; "2 New Sheqalim" on the silver proof coin; "5 New Sheqalim" on the 22 mm. gold coin and 10 New Sheqalim on the 30 mm. gold coin. Above the face
value is the State emblem. In the lower portion, along the circumference appears the year of issue, 1994 5754 and the word "ISRAEL' in Hebrew, Arabic and English.

Reverse: The Earth as the center of a flower surrounded by petals, symbolizing the fragility of the environment and the need to protect it. In the upper portion, along the circumference, "FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT" appears in Hebrew and English.
