The medal was issued exclusively for the Harp Competition

The first Harp Competition took place in Jerusalem in September 1959. The second, in 1962 and the third in 1965.

Obverse: Above, the word "Harp" (Nevel) the Hebrew "v" taking the form of a harp. In the centre, over two lines, in French: "Awarded by the Ministry of Tourism to..." (with a space for the name of the recipient.) On the rim in French: 'The Third International Harp Competition". Below, in French: "Jerusalem, Israel, Septembre 1965".

Reverse: A raised figure of King David, the poet King", playing a harp. Around the rim, the Hebrew inscription: 'The Third International Harp Competition, Jerusalem, Elul, 5725".

Edge: The State emblem and the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English.
