From Holocaust to Rebirth
State Medal, 5741-1981

The Convention of Holocaust survivors from all over the world which took place in Israel in June, 1981, symbolized the historic connection between the holocaust and revival of the Jewish State. The convention expressed the understanding on the part of the survivors that Jewish survival nowadays is an all-Jewish responsibility and that the basic element ensuring such survival is the State of Israel.

Obverse
A fading Star of David, imprisoned behind bars, The word "JUDE" on the bars resembles the badge of shame imposed by the Nazis on the Jews. Above the bars, a clear Star of David, symbolizing national revival. Around, a legend: "From holocaust to rebirth" in Hebrew, Yiddish and English.

Reverse
The State emblem and the legend: "World Convention of the Holocaust Survivors, Israel - Sivan 5741". The English translation appears on the side of a stylized globe "World Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors, Israel -June 1981".

Edge
The State emblem and the words: "State of Israel" in Hebrew and in English. The silver medals bear "Silver 935" in
Hebrew and "Silver" in English. The gold -"G750".

Serialization
All the medals are numbered.
