Bloodless Revolution Medal, 1969
On October 26, the coronation ceremony of Shah Muhammed Rizza Pahlawi, the King of Kings, took place in Teheran amid great splendour. His 27 year reign, marked by a lack of bloodshed, is known as the "White Revolution". His coronation was an expression of his success in promoting revolutionary changes within the economic and social structure of Iran and thereby raising the level of the Iranian people to one of the most progressive nations and to restoring his country to the greatness it once occupied in the region. The medal minted for the occasion reflects the achievements of the "White Revolution".
Obverse: The Shah's royal crown. An inscription, in Persian: "In memory of the coronation of his Royal Majesty the King of Kings, Muhammed Rizza Pahlawi, the flower of the Pahlevi Kingdom of Iran". Below, the fourth of Aban,
Reverse: The achievements of the White Revolution depicted from left to right, medicine, industry, agriculture, education, women's rights to vote. The inscription round the rim, enumerates 12 achievements: construction, housing, health services, land redistribution, the right of women to vote and to be elected, education and the extirpation of illiteracy, nationalization of forests, inclusion of workers in profit participation an opportunity for people to acquire shares in national enterprises, bureaucratic reforms, water resources serving the people, social services, improvements in the country's image.
Edge: An inscription: "A gift to the Pahlawi Royal House" in Persian. The silver medals bear "Sterling" "Silver 925". The gold medals "Gold 900" in English.
