Tel Aviv, situated on the Mediterranean coastline, is Israel's financial, social and cultural center. The city was founded in 1909 by Jewish immigrants on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa.
Tel Aviv is known as "the city that never stops", for its never-ending cultural events and nightlife destinations.
The White City of Tel Aviv with its Bauhaus architectutre was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003.
