The city of Haifa is the metropolis of the north of Israel, third in size after Jerusalem and Tel- Aviv. Situated along the Mediterranean Coastal Plain at the foot of the Carmel Mountain and around the Haifa Bay. It is one of the Israel's two biggest ports. Two of Israel's well-known academic institutes are found in Haifa: the Haifa University and the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
The Bahai World Center A UNESCO World Heritage Site is located on Carmel Mountain, and is one of Haifa's most prominent sites.
