The Supreme Court exercises special jurisdiction when sitting as a High Court of Justice. The Supreme Court sits in a panel of three justices, or any greater uneven number. Certain matters are heard before a single justice. The Supreme Court building in Jerusalem was made possible by a contribution of the Rothschild Foundation and the initiative of the late Dorothy de Rothschild. This medal marks the dedication of the building in November 1992.
