Olympic Games XXV, Barcelona, 1992

Since Israel first participated in Olympic competition in Helsinki in 1952, an Israeli delegation has marched nine times as a participant in opening ceremonies: in Helsinki, Melbourne, Rome, Tokyo, Mexico City, Munich, Montreal, Los Angeles and Seoul. In Barcelona on July 25, 1992, at Montjui'c - Mountain of the Jews, the Israeli delegation marched a tenth time as one of 167 participating countries, 500 years after the expulsion of the Jews from Spain. Our athletes endeavor to fulfill the Olympic motto: "Faster, Stronger, Higher". This Olympics marks the 20th anniversary of the murder of 11 Israeli athletes in the 1972 Munich Olympics. Their memory shall never be forgotten.

Around the upper circumference, the biblical verse "LET THE NATIONS RENEW THEIR STRENGTH", appearing in Hebrew below the stadium with the source "Isaiah 41:1". Around the lower circumference, the years "1492-1992" marking 500 years since the expulsion of Spanish Jewry.

Reverse: Insignia of the Olympic Committee of Israel and the word "ISRAEL' in Hebrew and English. Around the circumference, "OLYMPIC GAMES XXV BARCELONA 1992" in Hebrew and English.

Edge: Bronze/tombac and silver medals - State emblem with the words "STATE OF ISRAEL' in Hebrew on the right and in English on the left, with serial number. Bronze/tombac medal - "BRONZE" in Hebrew and English; Silver medal - "SILVER 935" in Hebrew and English; Gold medal - "G 585" in Hebrew and English.
