The Bank of Israel, established by law on August 24, 1954, is the sovereign central bank of the State of Israel. Headed by a Governor appointed by the President of the State, the Bank oversees banking supervision, state loans, research and currency issuance, and serves as the Government’s economic adviser.
This official award medal marks twenty-five years of the Bank of Israel (1954–1979).

Obverse: “Bank of Israel” in Hebrew and English, encircled by seven motifs from ancient Hebrew coins — pomegranates, menorah, harp, palm tree, stylized pomegranates, barley, and a roaring lion.
Center inscription: “25 Years – 1954–1979.”
Reverse: A schematic view of Jerusalem with the inscription “Jerusalem” in Hebrew and English.
