The Walls of the Old City of Jerusalem that exist today were built in the 16th century by the Turkish Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Since the late 19th century when the new neighborhoods were built outside the walls, the walls have become less significant for their defense and more as a symbol and impressive part of the landscape of the Old City of Jerusalem.

Obverse:An impressive, sculpted three-dimensional design of the Walls of the Old City of Jerusalem encircles the round. In the center, in stylized lettering in English and Hebrew is the inscription "Walls of Jerusalem".
Reverse: The Lion of Jerusalem and several of Jerusalem’s prominent buildings within a city-emblem-like outline, The Holy Land Mint logo, the inscription “Jerusalem of Gold” in Hebrew and English, and the inscription “3 oz Fine Silver 999” in English.
