Serving In The Reserves
Special Coin in honor of Israel's Reserve Soldiers 2008/5768
Legal issued by the Bank of Israel
Since the establishment of the State of Israel, reserve units have been a fundamental part of the strength and might of the Israel Defense Forces. The strength of the reserve units is first and foremost due to the quality of the soldiers, men and women, serving out of a sense of purpose and commitment to their comrades, their unit and their country. Reserve soldiers are ready to report for immediate service, leaving behind their business, job, academic and family responsibilities, in order to join the ranks of the active defense forces in times of crisis.
Reserve units have participated in all of Israel's wars and on all fronts. These men and women have displayed high levels of motivation and professionalism, serving alongside the regular army units.
This special coin salutes the reserve soldiers and their families for their efforts and sacrifices when duty calls. They are truly commendable.
