Mateh Yehuda Township
Official Award Medal, 5736-1976

The regional council "Mateh Yehuda", located in the hills of Jerusalem, is part of the area which belonged to the tribe of Judah, hence its name. The council was set up in 1964 and it encompasses 61 settlements, one of the largest in lsrael.

Description of the medal:

Reversed:
An inscription: "Mateh Yehuda Regional Council". In the center, a stylized figure of a lion which stands atop a sheaf of wheat and a cogged wheel.

Reverse:
A stylized panorama. A mother holding a child in her arms while the father is doing construction work. On the right, a stylized head of a lion. Above, on the left, a citation: "And the cities of Judah shall be built", Isaiah 44:26.

Edge:
The State emblem with the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English. The silver medals bear "Silver 935" in Hebrew and "Silver" in English.

Serialization:
All the medals are numbered. Bronze 1946 have been numbered, 126 have been melted. Silver-1034 have been numbered, 217 have been melted
