Zim Haifa
Official Award Medal, 5732-1972

The introduction of container ships into ZIM Maritime Services created a new trend in long distance shipping. This enabled faster turns-around and marked another milestone in the remarkable development of the shipping concern.

Obverse:
Above, on a stylized sea wave, an inscription "Zim Container Service" in Hebrew and English. In the centre containers on deck. On the right, above the ship, seven stars of David (Zim emblem). On the side of the ship, the inscription "Zim" in English. On the foredeck the inscription "Zim Haifa" in Hebrew and English. On the rim, to the right, the date: "5732-1972".

Reverse:
In the centre, a small ship, one of Zim's earliest. On the side, a large and modern vessel. Below, seen on the waves, the verse "And ships will come from Kittim" in Hebrew. On the rim, to the left, the source of the quotation "Numbers 24". On the rim, above, an inscription in English "Zim Israel Navigation Co.". This side was copied from the earlier Zim medal.

Edge:
The State emblem with the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English. The silver medals bear "Silver 935" in Hebrew and "Silver" in English.
