On november 4,1995, at the conclusion of a mass rally "No to Violence, Yes to Peace," Yitzhak Rabin, Israel's prime Minister and Minister of Defense, was assassinated. Yitzhak Rabin was born on March 1, 1922 in Jerusalem. In 1940 he joined the Palmach; became commander of the Harel Brigade in 1948, and head of re Irrational Division of the Israel Defense Force General Command in 1950. In 1964 he was appointed Chif General Staff and led the IDF to victory in the Six-Day War. In 1968 he was appointed Israel Ambassador to the U.S. and in 1973 was elected Prime Minister. He left office in 1977 and was reelected in 1992. In 1993 he signed the "Declaration of Principles" with the Palestinians and in 1994 signed the Israel-Jordan Peace Agreement.

Reverse: A dove, the State emblem, IDF emblem and Palmach emblem. Below these are the words "I devoted all my life So security and peace" in Hebrew and English and Rabin's signature in Hebrew and English. On the gold medal, the reverse is turned 180 degrees vis-a-vis the obverse.

Edge: State emblem with the words "STATE OF ISRAEL' in Hebrew on the right and in English on the left with serial number. Bronze/tombac medal - "BRONZE" in Hebrew and English; Silver medal - "S 999.9" in Hebrew and English; 30 mm. gold medal - "G.750" in Hebrew and English; 34 mm. gold medal - G 999.9 in Hebrew and English.

Serialization: All medals are numbered.
