A special tiny limited edition of 250 "Am Israel Chai" / "Shema Israel" Bronze Medals artistically combining the proud statement of the People of Israel - "Am Israel Chai" - with the motto which accompanies the People of Israel at all times - "Shema Israel".

"Am Israel Chai" - A short three-word statement in Hebrew but brimming with meaning - "The People of Israel Lives On"!

"Am" (People) - the People who received the "Torah of Israel", the basic code of conduct for humanity, and radiated it to the world. In contrast to other nations, the People of Israel has not always lived on its own land, not always spoken its own language. With the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and Roman conquest, it was exiled from its Land and dispersed all over the world, in some 70 countries, each with its own language. Yet, throughout the 2000-year exile, the People of Israel has remained faithful to its Jewish heritage and lives on - "Am Israel Chai".

"Israel", as the Hebrew word implies (divine master), was the name given to our forefather Jacob after he struggled but prevailed over the angel, who represented Esau, his brother and enemy. The name "Israel" was passed on from Jacob to his sons, the Tribes of Israel, to the "People of Israel", which has struggled throughout the ages against its enemies in the world, but prevailed.

"Chai" (Living) - A unique spiritual being was granted to the People of Israel by G-d, the "Guardian of Israel". By virtue of this, the People of Israel has been able to resist and survive in face of all the hardships that have befallen them, thoughout the generations. Greater and stronger nations have come and gone from the stage of history, while "Am Israel Chai" - the People of Israel Lives On.

"Shema Israel" - "Hear 0 Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One" (Deuteronomy 6:4) has become the central prayer and motto of the People of Israel, affirming our absolute faith and trust in G-d at all times. The complete "Shema Israel" prayer consists of three paragraphs, the first two taken from the Book of Deuteronomy, the third from the Book of Numbers. When we recite the "Shema", we address all the People of Israel - "Hear O Israel". This enhances our personal belonging to the People, as well our feeling of togetherness as a People, wherever we are, in Israel or in any other country.

This medal symbolizes the bond and brotherly love between the people of Israel. It is a very worthy keepsake.

Reverse: In stylized Hebrew letters: "Hear 0 Israel", Deuteronomy 6, together with the seven-branched candelabrum logo of Israel Coins and Medals Corp.
