Six months after “Operation Rising Lion,” which left a profound impression on the Middle East and amazed the world, Israel Coins and Medals Corp. is proud to launch a State Medal dedicated to this Operation.

The term “Rising Lion” draws its inspiration from the heroism of the Tribes of Israel. It embodies the unwavering spirit of the Jewish people – a people risen from the depths of the harshest crises, that has stood firmly in the face of the most difficult challenges and continued to move forward with tenacity, faith, and determination.

Throughout the generations, the lion has been a symbol of power, resilience, and steadfast resistance to the basic values of freedom, security, and heroism. In the wake of the recent war, the term “Operation Rising Lion” has taken on renewed significance, expressing the strength of the soldiers, security forces, and rescue teams, as well as the resilience of the entire Israeli society, which unites strongly when faced with external threats.

Issued in silver and bronze versions, the State Medal commemorates Israel’s legacy of heroism. It is a tangible expression of Israel’s commitment to honor those who have taken part in its defense, and to serve as a testimony of the fighting spirit, dignity, and unity. Additionally, it is a living symbol of the resilience and strength of the people of Israel.

The medal face is inspired by the official emblem of “Operation Rising Lion,” which features a strong lion with a flowing mane and dramatic lines, evoking a regal presence, courage, and determination. In the background is a group of doves in flight, led by a dove holding an olive branch in its beak, an image which symbolizes aspiration to peace and love of life. Below is the Israel Defense Force emblem, linking the lion with traditional Hebrew warriorship and expressing gratitude to the fighters, both on the front lines and home front. The biblical quotation around the border reflects the spirit of “Operation Rising Lion” and the courage of the people of Israel.

The medal reverse features a fighter jet, symbolizing the superiority of the Israeli Air Force and the highest defensive capability of the State of Israel. The fighter jet also holds an olive branch, denoting peace through strength and the very essence of the Operation - the restoration of security in the State of Israel. Above the fighter jet is the inscription “Operation Rising Lion 2025”, while engraved in the background is Psalm 100 from the Book of Psalms, a thanksgiving to the Lord, in Hebrew and English.
