FIFTH MEDAL IN THE “CITIES IN ISRAEL” SERIES
Founded in 1953, Migdal HaEmeq was initially settled by immigrants from China and from Romania, and later mainly from North Africa. The city has excelled at absorbing new immigrants and integrating them into the community. The education provided the city’s children is at a high level and volunteer activity is widespread. Migdal HaEmeq is considered the “Silicon Valley of the North” with numerous hi-tech factories providing employment for residents of the city and surrounding area. The percentage of unemployment is among the lowest in the country.
This medal is part of a series of medals highlighting the 74 Cities in Israel.
