100th Anniversary of the Jewish Federation

The American Jewish Federation was founded in 1895 in Boston with the aim of preserving Jewish values in North America, in Israel and around the world. Members of the Federation serve local communities and are enlisted to aid world Jewry. Today, the Federation Board, the governing body which directs the organization's institutions, oversees 200 Federations in North America. The Jewish Federation works to preserve Judaism, strengthen local communities and improve the quality of Jewish life, increase the financial resources at the disposal of the communities and is active in the spheres of religion, culture, and social and educational services. It also works to strengthen Israel and the links between North American and Jewry and Israel.

Obverse: Emblem of the Council of Jewish Federation - the letters CJF with a menorah inside the letter C. Below the emblem, the inscription "NORTH AMERICAN JEWISH FEDERATIONS". Above, along the circumference, "A CENTURY OF CHANGE.HERITAGE.ACTION. INNOVATION". Below, along the circumference, the years "1895-1995".

Reverse: The passage "THE MORE TZEDAKAH THE MORE PEACE" in stylized Hebrew script above, and in English below. The source "Avot 2" in Hebrew.

Edge: Initials "I.G.C.M.C." and "S 935" in Hebrew and English and serial number.
