World Conference on Soviet Jewry
Official Award Medal, 1991 5751

The World Conference on Soviet Jewry was created by the Liaison Office of the Foreign Ministry in 1971 at the Brussels Conference, as a means of increasing the national struggle to free Soviet Jewry. The Conference, which became a mass movement, united Jewish organizations, communities and committees in Israel and around the world. The varied activities of the Conference assisted Israel in leading this struggle.

Obverse: Symbol of the Conference - a circle of five dancers who create a Star of David figure. The right side of the circle is open and a hand is extended to two figures, symbol of absorption of immigration. Along the circumference below, the inscription "world conference on soviet Jewry", which appears in Hebrew above to the right of the figures.

Reverse: Horizontal lines with a sun behind them, symbol of the siege of Soviet Jewry. To the right, in Hebrew and English, the inscription "LET MY PEOPLE GO".

Edge: Initials "I.G.C.M.C." and "BRONZE" in Hebrew and English, and serial number.

Serialization: All medals are numbered.
