At a moment of truth, we are able to put our disagreements aside, join together and go straight to the fighting front to defend our State against threats and enemies who seek our destruction.
Over and over again, Israel arouses the wonder and admiration of other countries and peoples around the world. From the return of our people to its homeland and the miraculous establishment of the State of Israel amid the War of Independence in 1948, to our great victory in the Six Day War, the famous phrase based on Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook's teachings echoes – "The eternal people of Israel are not afraid of a long journey" The challenges we have coped with have led us to moments of great unity and the strength of our people united has led to victory.
From the pre-State Haganah and Etzel period and the struggle for our national home in Israel, to the present with the Israel Defense Forces, we have become a strong and leading nation. We will continue to defend our homeland and be stronger than ever, because we have no other country and no other people. Together only will we win.
