Music, the most abstract form of art, can have the greatest effect on our senses.
Designed by Dan Reisinger, an artist of world renown and winner of the prestigious Israel Prize, the "Music" Coin gives tangible artistic expression to the sweet notes of music. Abstract shapes borrowed from the shapes of musical instruments are intertwined into the synopsis of an orchestra and create a composition evoking associations of musical experiences embedded in the memory of each and every one of us.
Obverse: Face value in Hebrew and English, Israel State Emblem, "Israel" in English, Hebrew and Arabic and the mint year.
Reverse: Abstract shape created from the shapes of musical instruments; the word "MUSIC" is inscribed in Hebrew and English.
