Official Award Medal, 5736-1975

The metal industry has lately become a source of great investment in capital and sophisticated technology. Much of the modern machinery has been developed and manufactured in Israel. Defense needs have been and are continuing to supply a powerful leverage enabling the metal industry to grow and expand and to improve the technological finality of its products. The dynamic growth of the metal industry has made it a basic factor in the State economy.

Obverse: In the center - an anvil, the symbol of metal work since time immemorial. Delicate lines form the figures of an aircraft and a press, an expression of industrial achievements in Israel. Above, an inscription: "The Israel Metal Working Industry" in Hebrew and English. Below: the dates - "5736-1975".

Reverse: The seven branched candelabra fitting into the wheels of world industry, expresses Israel export and import. On the rim, an inscription: "Ministry of Commerce and Industry" in Hebrew and English.

Edge: The State emblem with the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English.

Serialization: The medals are numbered. 3452 medals have been numbered, 495 have been melted.

Designer: Obverse - Nathan Karp. Reverse - Dan Reisinger.
