Official Award Medal, 5728-1968

The Stoke-Mandeville Competition medal - Invalids Olympics-was coined in Israel, marking the State's 25th Anniversary. A bronze medal, 59mm, was awarded to the participants. The 59mm medals and the 45mm silver or gold plated, were awarded to the winners of the competitions.

Obverse: In the centre, within an incuse panel, the English initials "I.S.M.G." (International Stoke-Mandeville Games). The number "20" and the word "Israel" in Hebrew. The incuse panel is surrounded by global longitude and latitude lines. Around the rim, an inscription in Hebrew: "Invalids Olympics" and in English "XVII International Stoke-Mandeville Games".

Reverse: In the center, three wheels interlocked, in relief (emblem of the Games). On each wheel a motto in English: Unity, Sportsmanship, Friendship. Below: "Israel" in Hebrew and English, and the date "1968".

Edge: The State emblem and the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English.
