Official Award Medal, 5734-1974

The diamond industry in Israel, which exports diamonds and gems polished in Israel, has become the largest of its kind in the world. Its beginnings date back to the thirties, with the arrival of diamond merchants from the Low Countries. Most of its activities are conducted from the "Diamond Exchange" building in Ramat Gan, one of the most modern buildings for the international trade of rough and polished diamonds.

Around the rim -on the bronze and silver medals an inscription in Hebrew and English: "Diamonds - Israel's sparkling export, 5734-1974". The golden medal reads: "Israel Diamonds 5735-1975" in Hebrew and English.

Reverse: The seven branched candelabra entwined with the wheels of industry around the world, an expression of Israel's import and export. Around the rim on the silver and gold medals, an inscription in Hebrew and English "Ministry of Commerce & Industry". On some of the gold medals the inner frame around the inscription is missing.

Edge: The State emblem with the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English. The bronze medals have "Ministry of Commerce and Industry" in English. The silver medals bear "Silver 935" in Hebrew and "Silver" in English. The gold have "G 916.6".
