On the rim, an inscription, in Hebrew: 'The new synagogue of the Jewish congregation of Munich" and in German "The new synagogue, Munich".

Reverse: On the rim, above, a citation: "A brand rescued from the fire" - Zachariah 3:2. In the centre, a view of the ruins of the old synagogue incorporated into a wall of the new one. Below, an inscription in German: "New Community House".

Edge: "Israel" in Hebrew and English. The silver medals bear "Silver 935" in Hebrew and "Sterling" in English. The issue date: "Ab 14, 5732 - 25.7.1972".
