Official Piefort Mint Set, 1991 5751
43rd Anniversary of the State of Israel
This set was issued in celebration of the 43rd Anniversary of the State of Israel, declared the Year of Aliyah and Absorption. This theme is reflected in the Official Mint Set which is packaged in a colorful card-wallet presenting unforgettable scenes of "Exodus 91," one of the great immigrations to Israel. The set consists of the denominations in circulation, including the 1 agora coin which ceased to be legal tender on 1 April 1991, All of the coins are struck on double-thickness (Piéfort) blanks, heavier than those used in the ordinary issue. Each coin in the set bears a tiny Star of David mint mark, the mint year, 5751, and the State emblem.
