The Kadman Numismatic Museum
Official award medal, 5722-1961

The Kadman Numismatic Museum was inaugurated in October 1961. Leo Kadman, the first President of the Israel Numismatic Society, donated his entire coin collection to the museum, some three thousand items. The museum displays Greek, Hebrew, Roman, Byzantine, Crusader, Turkish and other coins. The Israel Government Coins & Medals Corporation issued two special medals to mark the inauguration and the opening of the Kadman Numismatic Museum. The one in bronze marks the inauguration. The other, in silver, commemorates the dedication in April 1962.
